Nations rise only through economical and social development. Thus, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques made a strategic goal intellectually and vocally to establish economic cities that would attract highly competent nations to reach a new stage of mutual cooperation with the kingdom, a new stage of development based on economical and intellectual methodologies through the establishment of large-scale projects that would provide for well-being and high standard of living of the nation. Hence, His Majesty's establishment of Jazan Economic City with more than SAR 100 Billion. The Economic City will be equipped with state of the art components, through the development pioneer and intelligent infrastructure to provide beneficial services and opportunities for investors to increase their productivity and enhance their businesses. Also, such infrastructure will provide the necessary fundamental pillars for the heavy industries, which include:

POWER PLANT
The power and desalination plant is located next to the coastline on the south side, consisting of the main power plant, desalination plant, associated balance-of-plant, electrical substation, and fuel storage facilities.
Using steam cycle technology to fire on Arabian crude oil, the power plant will be built with sufficient capacity to provide for the demand of the economic city with excess capacity to be sold to the grid. |

WATER DESALINATION PLANT
The desalination plant will be capable of providing about 50,000 cubic meters of portable water per day to cater to the internal requirements of the economic city as well as to supply water to the distribution network.

INDUSTRIAL PORT
The industrial port shall provide an additional main terminal on the Red Sea's coast as an additional benefit of its strategic location on Bab Almandab, and with a total space of 3.3 Million square meters, it shall be deemed one of the biggest ports in the region. This is beneficiary in increasing growth of the international navigational route on the Red Sea. Through its state of the art equipment and its capability in handling the largest ships and carriers, the port shall provide numerous job opportunities in various major industries related to cargo and storage as well as associated logistic and assisting services. This shall facilitate the businesses in the region in terms of importing raw materials and exporting products such as treated and manufactured materials to regions such as Europe, Eastern Africa, Asia and Australia.

Throughout its strategic location along major significant commercial routes on the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean, Jazan Economic City focuses majorly on heavy industries that consume great amount of energy as well as on related transformable industries that are deemed to be of great significance to the Kingdom.
